Last night we were invited to watch and listen to the melodic tones of Dani Blue at the West Hill Inn. Dani Blue is a Singer-songwriter from Brighton who is currently gigging in London and the South East as a solo artist, as one half of a duo with acclaimed Jazz bassist Keith Baxter (Roadrunners) and also with a full band. Dani is gaining credibility at an alarming rate with her talent, passion and emotive songs, she's destined to be entertaining us for many years to come. One to watch...
As for the West Hill performance, it was a nice intimate gig and she had several supporters there. It was good to see how she controlled the audience and offered more than just her singing by showing her personal side and humour - courtesy of a shirt button popping open.
Dani did a great set, singing some of her own material and also threw in some cover versions for good measure. The PA system and lighting sadly were not the best and caused a few issues - but a professional performs none-the-less, so whilst she sang, I snapped away.
Dani Blue now has a regular spot at The Master Mariner so why not nip down and hear her for yourself.
Here is Dani's gig line up: 9th Feb @ The West Hill, Buckingham Road, Brighton. 17th Feb @ The Rose Hill Tavern, Brighton. 25th Feb @ The Master Mariner, Brighton Marina. 25th Mar @ The Master Mariner, Brighton Marina.
