I have longed to do a photoshoot involving flour and a dancer, the problem was finding a suitable venue and an amazing dancer. The flour was the easy part. That all changed when Luis Young contacted me about working together. After seeing his amazing dance skills, I knew I had the right person to pull off this shoot, I just needed a venue.
By sheer chance I happened upon the Marina Studios in Brighton which has three large dance spaces. After looking inside, it seemed like the ideal location. I explained my idea and the staff agreed that I could do the shoot there. Everything was set.
On the day of the shoot, I set up the lights and talked Luis through a few ideas for the shoot. Luis shown me some of his dance moves to try and capture. Being my first attempt at combining dance with flour proved trickier than I first thought. I have certainly learnt a thing or two for the next time I attempt this style of photoshoot.
Luis as expected was a star and professional throughout - I hope you enjoy the images we created together.
