Jess & Mike's engagement
Engagement in Shrewsbury
Autumn is such a great time of year from a photographic point of view. The pastel-coloured leaves that litter the ground, coupled with those still hanging on the trees offer a colourful backdrop for any portrait. The last ebb of summer sun provides beautiful light with the promise of warmth that never comes at this time of year. And thus the stage was set for an engagement shoot in Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park.
There are some people who just seem to fit together. They find fun and excitement in the simplest of things. Jess and Mike are that couple, and an absolute joy to work with. The fun, energy and enthusiasm they brought proved infectious. Getting Jess and Mike NOT to smile was the only challenge.
The whole afternoon was full of fun and laughter as we moved between shots and locations and it was apparent Jess and Mike are very much in love. One of the highlights of the afternoon involved the couple playing in the fallen leaves.
Little did we know this would be become a session in itself, as before we knew it, we had a wrestling/leaf fight on our hands – that could have been a Sky pay-per-view event. Not that this was a bad thing, as it provided some fantastic photo opportunities.
All in all, it bodes well for the wedding, which we are looking forward to immensely. Which we know, will be as wonderful as the couples themselves.
One thing we aim for in our shoots is to keep it light and 'real' we think we managed to do that with Jess & Mike, as you can see from the pictures.
So until we meet again, have a great Christmas and New Year. We shall see you in March 2011 at the wedding.
